Mean but true statement: Some of us take life too ****** seriously. We are so busy being busy, doing, trying, striving, struggling, pressing, stressing, fasting, praying, laying prostrate that we suck all the freaking joy out of what should have been a “yoke is easy”, burden is light” life. Man, even Jesus laughed, had joy, smiled and went out to dinner with his crew! Girl, if you are killing yourself trying to live your priorities are ALL wrong! People should be jealous of Christians because they see how blessed we are. Not looking at us like “She looks busted, has a bad attitude, got everybody in here stressed, and she wants me to follow her religion? Bye, Felicia!” That’s why we have to be careful of the testimony we express and display. Trust God. Get your nails and feet done and chit chat in a normal way with average people. Get back to yourself. Go eat something yummy and fattening and don’t stress about it. Take a friend out, buy your kid that stupid, unnecessary thing they have been bugging your about-within reason, give your boss a thank you gift (even if they’re a butt), stay in your husband’s arms instead of running off to do chores. In other words, MORE MARY, LESS MARTHA! What was wrong with Martha? She was crazy! You got Jesus in the room and you trying to COOK???! Child, I woulda been all up in HIS FACE!!! Ok, let me calm down. Please enjoy your life. Take time to reflect on what I said earlier, go back and look at what I said and STOP:
“killing yourself trying to live”
I love you & the Father does too!
Sometimes you wanna give up.
Don’t give up, give in. Give into the leading of the Holy Spirit. Pray for peace of mind. Receive it. Feel His presence come. Feel the stress dissipate. Listen for His voice. Open your Bible and absorb His word. Pursue peace. This is what we can’t give up on. Pursuing peace. When we’re at peace, everything flows.
Y’ALL. I’m stupid excited. No, let me rephrase. Stoopud excited about this product!!! I came across this video on one of my Sunday hairday video binges. I was so skeptical, but since my daughter has a looser curl than I do, I decided that I’m going to make her the guinea pig! LOL Ok, I may try it on mine first. But check out these 2 videos and tell me what you think!
If you thought the last ‘do was dope (check my post from yesterday), then check THIS one out! Can you say Bad Mamma Jammer?? Yaaaaaas, honey! I need this in my life. I’ve done it and left out my hair so it was like a faux hawk, but it wasn’t protective and after 3 days my hair was so thirsty. But this…hoooooney. This will make a fine updo indeed!
I’ve been agonizing over what to do with this hair this summer. I am in a rut and feeling some kind of way about keeping up with this hair! The other thing is that it seems that my hair grows by leaps and bounds during the warmer months. So, what to do??? I need some way to keep it moisturized, healthy and OUT. OF. MY. WAY. So I knew this was my golden ticket when I found this video!
I need to get to my hair easily without all the drama of it being in individual braids or wearing a full blown wig (those can be hotter than my thick, dense hair-not to mention itchy!). I think this will do nicely. What do you guys think??
Look at that picture again? Let it sink in…deep. Today’s the last day of January. Have you been fighting to hold onto something and it’s just not working out? Give it to God. Our Father has much bigger hands and has much bigger plans for our lives than we do. Yes, small things have their time and place. But there’s a time to move on to bigger and better. Now don’t get me wrong, bigger doesn’t always mean what you think it means. Once I went from full time to part time. My job responsibilities (and my check) got smaller, but my time to do more things that He’d called me to got so much bigger! My joy got bigger! My space between tasks got bigger so my rest got bigger. Man, it was awesome! So sit at his feet and see what your “bigger” is and what it means. You won’t regret it!
Just a quick reminder before I leave…
You aren’t working to make things work are you? I hope not. Our blessings are gifts. We don’t work for gifts. We receive them and say thank you. So take that next breath and put it to good use. Tell God thank you for all He’s freely given through Christ Jesus.
Love & encouragement,
Take time out dream! Stop running & ripping making someone else’s dream happen and work on yours! If you’re tired of something in your life, there’s a reason. Take time out to sit and dream. Don’t waste time worrying about what is happening, sit and consult God on what could be happening in your life. He has plans, dreams and goals for YOU! Time to start listening to what HE says about your life and start moving accordingly. Do you have a vision board? Expound upon it by making a notebook. Have the notebook? Make the checklist. Have the checklist? Fill out the calendar. You can take steps towards your dream. But they’re your feet and only you can use them. Need a good place to start? Try Pinterest. Make Dream Boards! There’s nothing you can’t do. Just take some time to hear His Spirit concerning your life. Contrary to what some are saying, we don’t have to wait until the by and by to enjoy our life. If you have to be dead to enjoy it, why call it living?
Yeah….ponder on that.
Love & encouragement,
While some may prefer coffee, others may prefer tea and still others (especially in this weather) adore hot chocolate, we must gravitate and always crave water. Not H20, but the water that washes us. The Word. I heard recently that the first 7 minutes of your day dictate the rest of your day. Hmmmm….I don’t know if that’s true, but that first few minutes do mean a lot. When you open your eyes, what do you do first? Stumble to the bathroom? Run to the bathroom? lol Grab your phone? Grab your spouse? Turn on the TV? Turn on the radio/music?
I won’t lie. I don’t thank God within the first 7 minutes MOST of the time. But within the first 7 minutes I do realize that He is there and that I need to say SOMETHING to Him. Sometimes it’s a declaration over my day. Sometimes it’s a prayer. Sometimes it’s a Thank You. But no matter what, be sure to start your day with Him. Trust me, you’ll need Him before the day is out!
Love & encouragement,
