Let them help!
I used to be one of those moms who would do everything & not allow the children to help. I think it was my need for the perfectly clean house. I quickly got over that when it became a tidal wave of never-ending chores! So what did I do? I let him help! Yeah, he was only 2, but he could fold wash cloths like nobody’s business!! So from there I got creative and worked out a chore list. He could hand me laundry to put in the washer, help me pull clothes out of the dryer & unload groceries into the bottom fridge shelf & lower shelves of cabinets. And for you who believe in cleaning baseboards, put a knee sock on that little hand and watch them wipe them down like the wind! Concerned about cleaners? Don’t be! Vinegar & water can clean a ton of your house without harmful fumes or chemicals.
Try it out. You’ll be spending time with your child, teaching them pride in a job well done, instilling family values of taking care of your home and each other & teaching valuable life skills. (Not to mention you’ll tire them out for a good nap and decrease your chore load!)
Until next time!
